Basically, the study of classic American comic strip syndicate, but as the old player Corrierino late 60s - early 70s, I grew up on bread and Franco-Belgian comics and I can only in Italy to celebrate the return of Lucky Luke, the cowboy of the BD created by Morris in 1946 and since then, the star of a long series of adventures.
The volume under review (against Pinkerton Lucky Luke) is, in fact, the 74th anniversary of the series and the fourth to be drawn from good Achdé, after the death of Morris.
Compared to the previous three volumes (the work of the writer Gerra and unpublished in Italy), here the witness is taken from the duo-Pennac Benacquista, two well-known novelist in France (but is also well known in Pennac Italy) and, of course, not even as a novice screenwriters to comic books.
The book, published almost simultaneously with the Francophone market, is the work of the newly formed publishing house NonaArte Andrea Streit (former founder of Edizioni BD) and is a typical 48-page hardcover French (cm 21x29) in color, well printed on glossy paper is not at a price of € 14.90.
A good translator is Marco Farinelli (with lettering Vincent's Studio).
I know I have the bad habit of never fail to stress the artistic quality of what we reviewed, peg away only on aspects technical publications (assume that if I talk about it, this is material that I consider of value).
"Lucky Luke against Pinkerton" is a great episode of an excellent series, well-designed, full of pace and ideas.
Fortunately for him, the cowboy who shoots faster than his shadow has found some good followers (though I think some people like Asterix or TINTIN have suffered so much over the last albums, although remaining in the hands of their creators. ..).
Exemplary from every point of view (except for the price: the French edition costs only € 9.95) this is a book that not only I would advise, but I would hope that it remains "lonely" as his protagonist ( a poor lonesome cowboy ).
Wishing the best of success to NonaArte and its branch BD, I hope we can soon see the other translated volumes Achdé and (why not dream), maybe you can enjoy a full reprint of this outstanding series .
And also extend best wishes to the newly formed series dedicated to Michel Vaillant, the pilot comic Graton, NonaArte that appeared to plan to reprint in full (have already been presented the first three albums).
